About the Role
The Online Content Developer and Publisher will be responsible for creating online content to build and activate a new National Maritime Skills Network website.
This role will work closely with the Maritime Team, the corporate communications team and stakeholders to develop simple and compelling written and visual content that effectively simplifies complex concepts for a diverse range of audiences and digital channels.
The role primarily focuses on the National Maritime Skills Network website to build its exposure, brand identity and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Content development for the National Maritime Skills Network website
- Develop high-quality original content for the new National Maritime Skills Network website.
- Develop key narratives, compelling short summaries, case studies and career profiles to communicate the objectives of the National Maritime Skills Network and initiatives in the Maritime Workforce Plan. This may include interviewing learners, trainers and assessors or other maritime stakeholders.
- Develop supporting visual material including audio, video and infographics, or if required, develop briefs for their development and direct the design.
- Upload regular updates, new research, articles and maritime stories that emphasise the diversity of maritime career opportunities and pathways, to establish the website as the central source of maritime training information and advice for training organisations, students, parents, teachers and the sector at large.
Stakeholder consultation and collaboration
- Consult and collaborate with the maritime team and stakeholders on plain English written, visual content (e.g. images, videos) and audio e.g. (podcasts) needed to generate increased traffic to the National Maritime Skills Network website. This may include storyboarding and scriptwriting.
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support well-timed communications about relevant maritime sector activities and projects to support ISA’s Maritime Skills Program delivery.
- Proactively interview maritime stakeholders to build new stories and promote maritime careers.
Performance reporting, review and continuous improvement
- Ensure tasks are completed as per the web architecture associated with the National Maritime Skills Network website and within the scope of ISA’s Maritime Skills Program.
- Report on progress in line with project reporting requirements and timelines.
- Maintains project related documentation consistent with the project management framework and document control conventions.
- Update Borealis with stakeholder engagements and share stakeholder insights received broadly.
- Provide regular reports on stakeholder engagements, site visits, social media likes and shares to track performance of the National Maritime Skills Network and use findings to make continuous improvements to the website, campaigns and social channels.
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on communications opportunities and collaborate to deliver.
Support ISA’s communications
- Develop content for collateral and presentations as required to support stakeholder engagement.
- Provide maritime content for other related ISA communication channels including copy fit for digital publishing and narrative for including in executive speeches, conference presentations and websites.
About You
Essential attributes
- Exemplary writing skills paired with a strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prepare plain English content suitable for a range of platforms and audiences, including websites.
- Experience managing digital content formats.
- Strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders.
- Advanced verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and form effective relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Proficient in tools like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro for creating and editing visuals, infographics, and short videos.
- Ability to conceptualise, scope and brief design for infographics or other visual elements to support written and visual narratives.
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) (e.g. WordPress and Directus).
- Proficient in using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, with the ability to interpret data to enhance content performance.
Desirable attributes
- Tertiary qualification in any of the following disciplines - public relations, communications, multi-media/media production, creative writing or journalism.
- General understanding of the education and training system, with a willingness to deepen knowledge as needed.
- Understanding of community or stakeholder engagement, particularly within a vocational education and training (VET), government or regulatory environment.

We are seeking a skilled Project Specialist to join our dynamic team to ensure the delivery of multiple projects in the Maritime Industry Workforce Plan to support the establishment of Australia’s Strategic Fleet and the broader maritime industry. You will be responsible for managing projects that will help to accelerate access to and grow workforce capability in the Maritime Industry. Your ability to manage projects with a focus on scope, quality, risk, and financial management to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment, together with the maritime sector, will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects across scope, quality, finance, risk and compliance parameters.
- Developing and delivering high quality maritime sector focused project documentation for stakeholder engagement and government submission. This may include policy issues and options papers, stakeholder engagement summaries and project research reports.
- Design and implement high quality engagement experiences for industry and government stakeholders to develop viable solutions to meet project objectives ensuring the effective passage of workforce development solutions and reform opportunities.
- Steward the development and facilitation of project working groups, providing evidence, drafts proposals, and expert insights demonstrating progress and momentum across the project lifecycle.
- Lead research initiatives to collect data and evidence to inform the maritime program.
- Develop high-quality resources to support project implementation.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure awareness, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Senior-level policy experience in a government and /or industry environment.
- A sound understanding of the Australian Vocational, Education and Training (VET) system and national policy context.
- Strong project management and organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, team members and stakeholders.
- Advanced verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to form effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- High level research, technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience in or knowledge of the Maritime, Defence or Transport and Logistics industries.

About the Role
As a Project Support Officer, you will provide high-level secretariat and administrative support to ensure the delivery of the projects from the Maritime Industry Workforce Plan which supports the establishment of Australia’s Strategic Fleet and the broader maritime industry. Your primary focus will be ensuring the smooth operation of tasks and activities associated with the delivery of multiple industry-led maritime projects, working closely with government and private sector stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Project and Administrative Support: Provide exceptional customer service, support project specialists, manage critical project information, support timely delivery of tasks, including document review and contribute to operational activities and improvements including procurement processes
Secretariat Services: Provide professional secretariat services to organise and manage meetings, prepare and distribute documents, take minutes, track action items, and provide first-tier support to committee members for communications and technical support.
Communications and Event Coordination: Support the planning and delivery of maritime sector focused communications and industry events, including workshops, webinars, Industry Roundtables to the Supply Chain Leaders’ Summit, conferences, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Training Product Support: Assist ISA Project Specialists and Technical Committees in developing and improving vocational education and training (VET) content.
About you:

- Strong time management and proactive organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365, and SharePoint.
