Industry Engagement Manager Carly Grigg Visits ARA Head Office, Previews AusRAIL Speaking Engagement

Carly Grigg, Our Industry Engagement Manager for Rail, recently had the opportunity to visit the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) head office in Canberra, where she met with key figures in the rail industry to discuss the future of workforce development and industry support.

On 29 October, Carly took a tour of the ARA's headquarters, where she was welcomed by Paul Murray, who generously hosted the visit and introduced her to the ARA team. The visit provided Grigg with valuable insights into the important work the ARA and its TrackSAFE Foundation do to support the rail workforce in Australia and New Zealand. Grigg also explored how their initiatives align with Industry Skills Australia’s efforts to strengthen workforce development in the rail sector.

Reflecting on the experience, Carly noted, “It was fantastic to have the chance to see firsthand the amazing work being done by the ARA and the TrackSAFE Foundation. The ARA’s role as the peak body for the rail sector is pivotal in shaping the future of rail in both Australia and New Zealand. I’m looking forward to the upcoming opportunity to share insights into the 2024 Workforce Plan – Rail at AusRAIL.”

The ARA represents more than 230 members across Australia and New Zealand, acting as the voice of the rail industry while championing safety, innovation, and workforce development. The collaboration between ARA, TrackSAFE Foundation, and Industry Skills Australia plays a vital role in advancing the skills and training needed for the next generation of rail professionals.

Looking ahead, Carly is preparing for her speaking engagement at AusRAIL 2024 on 26 November in the Gold Coast, where she will delve into the 2024 Workforce Plan – Rail. This speaking engagement promises to shed light on the strategic workforce development initiatives crucial for the rail industry’s growth.
