ISA Meets with Training Ahead Australia to Strengthen Collaboration Across Rail Training
Carly Grigg, Industry Engagement Manager at ISA, recently met with the leadership team at Training Ahead Australia (TAA), a national rail training provider, to discuss current workforce initiatives, future projects, and opportunities for deeper collaboration across the sector.
The discussion focused on the importance of ensuring training products remain current, relevant, and responsive to industry needs. Carly provided an overview of ISA’s broader program of work, including ongoing projects and areas where industry insight is essential to guiding future development.
With rail undergoing rapid change and increased demand, both organisations emphasised the critical role of high‑quality training and the need for continuous feedback from industry to shape effective solutions.
ISA encouraged TAA, and the wider sector to share suggestions for improvements to nationally endorsed training products or other activity to support workforce development, reinforcing that collaboration is a core driver in producing strong, industry aligned outcomes.
Shoaib Ahmed, COO of Training Ahead Australia, shared his reflections on the visit:
“Thank you for taking the time to visit the TAA facility and spend time with our team. We genuinely appreciate you sharing insights into the great work ISA is currently undertaking, as well as providing a forward look at upcoming initiatives and projects.
It was a valuable opportunity for our team to better understand how ISA is supporting the industry and where there may be opportunities for collaboration moving forward. The discussion was insightful and well received by everyone involved.
We look forward to staying connected and exploring how TAA can continue to support ISA and the broader industry.”
ISA welcomes feedback, and suggestions from across the transport supply chain. Whether it’s identifying new skills needs, highlighting gaps in current training, or proposing opportunities for improvement, industry input is essential in helping us shape future‑ready, and lifting productivity through skills.
