Record Crowds Celebrate Innovation and Inclusion at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show
Last week marked the 58th year of the Brisbane Truck Show (‘the Show’), and it did not disappoint. With an expected attendance of around 40,000 visitors, the event once again proved to be a cornerstone of Australia’s Transport and Logistics calendar bringing together industry professionals, innovators, and the general public for four days of networking, discovery, and celebration.
From the latest in heavy vehicle technology to career pathways and training opportunities, the Show offered something for everyone. It was a chance for industry veterans to reconnect, for newcomers to explore, and for the public to gain a deeper appreciation of the vital role transport plays in our daily lives.
Spotlight on Women in Transport
Our Transport & Logistics Industry Engagement Manager, Camilla Elmes, was on the ground at the Show, kicking off her visit at the Transport Women Australia Ltd (TWAL) Breakfast. The breakfast provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with key figures in the sector, including:
- Di Caldwell-Smith – Transport Women Australia Ltd
- Ainsleigh Thomas – StarTrack, Transport Women Australia Ltd and 2025 ATA/Daimler Future Leader, and
- Tracie Dickenson – Daryl Dickenson Transport
The event celebrated the contributions of women in the transport industry and reinforced the importance of supporting greater female participation across all levels of the workforce.
Career Pathways on Display
One of the highlights of the Show was the Depot Zone, a dedicated space showcasing career and training opportunities in the transport and logistics sector. Camilla had the opportunity to connect with representatives from Wodonga TAFE to discuss their Iron Women program, a standout initiative offering tailored, supported heavy vehicle driver training for women. The program is a shining example of how targeted support can help break down barriers and build a more inclusive industry.
From the impressive array of vehicles and the latest innovations in transport technology to the invaluable opportunity to reconnect with industry representatives, the Brisbane Truck Show proved to be a fabulous success. The event not only showcased the future of the industry but also reinforced the strength of its community and collaborative spirit.
