Completed Projects

Industry Skills Australia has completed the following projects, that addressed skills requirements and workforce challenges across industry sectors.

Aviation

Airborne Operations (Rescue)

This project updated the Certificate III in Aviation (Rescue Crew Officer) and Certificate IV in Aviation (Air Crew Officer) to enable broader industry applicability.

Transport Security Protection

This project updated the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection to enable the qualification to reflect recent regulatory changes.

Maritime

Marine Order 505 Review

This project reviewed the Maritime Training Package to better align products to regulation known as Marine Order 505 (Certificates of competency – National Law) for domestic commercial vessels.

Autonomous Maritime Systems

This project enabled greater flexibility and efficiency in skills development for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) operators.

Vessel Traffic Services

This project responded to new International Maritime Organization (IMO) guidelines regarding operation of Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and changes to certification requirements for VTS operators.

Omnichannel Logistics

Omnichannel Skills Gap Analysis

This project identified skill requirements for key existing roles within the transport and logistics industries impacted by omnichannel logistics and new roles that are emerging within the sector.

Rail

Digital Skills Analysis

This project developed five Rail Digital Occupational Profiles (DOP's) to identify workforce development needs for building digital skills in the rail industry.

Mutual Recognition Project

This project developed a Rail Mutual Recognition Companion Volume that prescribes industry’s minimum expectations for the design and delivery of training and assessment. The companion volume will be published once mutual recognition governance arrangements are established.

Space Transport & Logistics

Skills Gap Analysis

Industry Skills Australia (ISA) has released its Space Transport and Logistics Skills Gap Analysis Report, a landmark study highlighting challenges in building a skilled workforce for Australia’s space transport and logistics (T&L) sector.

Transport & Logistics

Chain of Responsibility

This project updated two Units of Competency pertaining to Chain of Responsibility to align with National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) requirements.

Furniture Removal

This project updated training products to enable furniture removal workers to develop skills that are highly transferable to a range of vocations across the Supply Chain sectors.

Motor Vehicle Driver Training

This project updated the Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training and ensured all units in the qualification are current.

Vocational Education and Training (VET)

VET Qualification Reform

The VET Qualification Reform sought to test the Design Group’s proposed purpose-led model, with ISA delivering two reports: one on a demonstration project and the other on categorising qualifications.

Australian Digital Capability Framework

In an age of increasingly rapid digital transformation, issues of job mobility, portability of skills and the need for rapid reskilling and upskilling are front of mind. Digital capability is essential to education, workplaces and engaging in today’s society.
